Most of the doors we're called out to fix went up somewhere between 1948 and 1983, with the median landing around 1978. That matters more than people think.
A door from that era usually has torsion hardware sized for a heavier, single-panel wood or early steel door, and a lot of those springs are still original or one replacement removed from original - which means they're due, or overdue. Openers from the 60s and 70s stock either got swapped once already for a mismatched unit or never got swapped at all, so we see a fair number of chain-drive units straining against hardware they weren't matched to.

How far will you travel for a repair?
Our regular service area runs out to Claremont and Rushmere at about 14 miles, and Yorktown, Surry, and Hayes at around 11 miles. Gloucester Point is roughly 12 miles. If you're outside those towns, call and ask rather than assume - we don't want to quote a trip we can't make.
My house is from the 60s - is that why the spring keeps going?
Likely, yes. A lot of the homes we work on across this area were built in the 1960s and 70s, and torsion springs have a rated cycle count regardless of the house. If yours has never been replaced, it's probably near or past that count, and a second failure isn't unusual once the first one hits.
